We won the tender for advertising locations in Tampere
We have won the City of Tampere’s outdoor advertising tender, Lot 1, which includes a 15-year agreement to implement 75-inch double-sided digital advertising devices across one hundred advertising locations. The win strengthens our position as a pioneer in digital out-of-home and as a market leader in outdoor advertising.
As a result of the tender, our Tampere network will expand significantly. The city will gain a total of 200 new digital advertising screens. Following the expansion, our advertising network across the Tampere economic region will cover more than 800 advertising surfaces in total, including 273 in the city centre, 179 in shopping centres and 250 in S Group stores. There are also more than 80 large LED advertising screens across the Tampere region.
The Tampere city region is Finland’s second-largest economic area after the Helsinki metropolitan region. It consists of 11 municipalities, with a combined population of 446,000 residents in 2025. Tampere is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, supported by excellent accessibility, a strong knowledge base and a diverse business environment. While Tampere is Finland’s third-largest city by population, as a metropolitan area it ranks second nationwide.
“Tampere is not only Finland’s most attractive city, it is also one of the most commercially compelling regions. A growing population, a vibrant events scene and an active urban culture make Tampere an attractive environment for advertisers. The city’s determined investments in development further strengthen the region’s commercial potential. As an outdoor media company, we have effectively digitalised our business, and recent investments have focused heavily on the Helsinki metropolitan area. Going forward, we will also invest strongly in Tampere and other growth centres such as Kuopio and Jyväskylä. As Finland’s largest outdoor advertising operator, we have practically completed the digitalisation of our business. Upcoming investments in digital devices have largely been directed towards the capital region, and we will continue to increase our focus on Tampere, Kuopio and Jyväskylä,” says CDO Lassi Tolonen.
